Artist Statement
My work explores the space between structure and surrender.
I am drawn to the moment when control begins to soften and when color takes precedence over plan and movement replaces certainty. Each painting begins with intention, but not conclusion. Layers build slowly, sometimes disrupted, sometimes preserved, until tension finds its own equilibrium.
I am interested in how surfaces hold emotion and how weight and light coexist, how density can still feel fluid. Through blending, scraping, and layering, I allow form to emerge rather than forcing it.
These paintings are not meant to resolve neatly. They are meant to hold presence and to shift depending on light, mood, and distance. They invite the viewer into that same space of tension and becoming.
